ZNC на debian

0. Ставим ZNC:

sudo apt-get install znc

1. Добавляем юзверя, от которого всё будет крутится:

sudo adduser bnc

2. Заходим под юзером и настраиваем znc.

su bnc
znc --makeconf

На последний вопрос о запуске отвечаем — нет. У нас ведь ещё ничего не готово:)
Меняем юзера на рута или sudo-юзера и продолжаем.

3. Создаем каталог с настройками и перетаскиваем туда настройки:

sudo mkdir /etc/znc
sudo mv /home/bnc/.znc/* /etc/znc/
sudo chown -R bnc:bnc /etc/znc/

Тут есть прикол — через sudo каталог не захотел перемещаться — пришлось заходить под рутом и перемещать:)

4. Теперь нам нужен скрипт запуска:

sudo nano /etc/init.d/znc

У него будет следующее содержание:

Затем чмодим и ставим на автозапуск:

sudo chmod +x /etc/init.d/znc
sudo update-rc.d znc defaults

5. Пробуем запустить:

sudo /etc/init.d/znc start

При первом запуске znc спросит про сертификат — жмем yes, и спросит, если надо, про ключи шифрования для модулей.

Если всё прошло нормально, то можно пользоваться:) Подключаться, настраиваться, добавлять модули и делать прочие бяки:)
